I'm weird, so what?

I haven’t’ been tagged in a long time and the one I attempted to start sort of didn’t catch on.
Therefore I am very pleased to participate in this new meme, thanks to
! for Tagging me.

"Play according to the rules... Each player of this game starts with the "6 Weird Things about You". People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says 'you are tagged' in their comments and tell them to read your blog!"

1)I could eat roasted chicken twice a day, every day (except the 9 days prior to Tisha B’eav) and never grow bored with it.

2)I blog, that’s weird as no one that I personally know does so.

3) I have been caught talking while no one else was around and wasn’t wearing a headset either;
I call it loud thinking, others have another word, less flattering, for it.

4)I love French music from the seventies and dislike most of the music airing these days.

5)I don’t put ketchup on my fries, potatoes, meat or sandwich. In fact I don’t put ketchup on anything.
In fact, when someone next to me eats ketchup it spoils my appetite.
Same for fish by the way.

6) I participated at this TAG.
I Tag everyone who enjoyed memes!

ADDICTED TO COKE

They attack with one of the most fearful weapons on earth: Mass Media.

Everywhere they press their merchandise almost literally down my throat.

Magazines, billboards and the way it is always shelved so conveniently to my reach.

But it’s not that!I firmly believe that I’m completely immune to any form of advertising.

The only type of advertising that might trigger a reaction is the informative one.

If I’ve had in mind that I need product so and so, then if I would see and ad about it, I would go out and make a purchase.I (almost) never feel that I need something just because it’s advertised.

Neither do I run out to every store that has a “ big “sales day.It has come to my attention that the only “sale” really going on, is for the storeowner.

As religious Jew, I’ve been immunized from my younger years, not to pay too much attention in general to publicity, as so many of the ads are for food products there’s no way I’ll be eating anytime soon.

Same goes for clothing and other products that an Orthodox Jew can’t do a thing with, except give away to non Jewish colleagues.

That’s one of the factors that help. The other one is that I’ve studied marketing and strategic communication.

I had a great teacher who dissected prevalent methods that target our brain and subconscious functioning, with his students.

Simply knowing about these even cursorily, remove the effect of the aggressive messages for an important part.

There’s no need to be alert or anything, it works like a vaccine. If this blog ever attracts a significant number of visitors I’ll try to get in touch with this teacher, turn my attic upside down to find my notes from then, and finally share these, potentially money saving, tidbits of wisdom with my readers.

So why Coca Cola?

I guess my taste buds are responsible. And I happen to have very discriminating ones.…

Kindness

We humans are a weird breed.

An innocent comment, said by someone who most likely meant nothing by it can bother us for days.

We dream about unexplainable things and people we have absolutely no relation ship with or to.

We regret the words we said and wish we had done certain things differently.
We fixate over past mistakes instead of obsessing on how to make them better.

We feel sadness for no obvious reasons, and work hard to find a reason for that feeling even there really isn’t one.

But a single kind word or gesture emanating from the heart stays with us forever.

Should I change the “We” into "I", or not?

The year is 2006, and this happened.

Yesterday a man died, indirectly assassinated by the Police.
It’s the buzz of the town.
Now you could think that the man was a murderer, a danger and menace to polite society (if there’s still is such a thing), then understandably the police had no choice, self defence is and always will be a valid and legal justification at a murder trial.
It isn’t so however.

They stormed the guy’s apartment early in the morning entered almost literally as viciously as the infamous gestapo once did and yelled for everyone to remain in place and not move.
The investigators were researching (note he was not yet found guilty of anything) the business practices of the men.
Probably startled by the brutal entrance and yelling the guy fell in a faint.
Rumour goes that they refused to call for medical help and denied permission to the guy’s wife to do so.
Tragically this story has a fatal ending.
At most this guy was guilty of not paying enough taxes or earning some money he did not declare yet he was treated in a way no one would dream of acting towards the most cruel killers and terrorists.
The year is 2006, and this happened.
